‚ÄčThe Association of Business Process Management Professionals (ABPMP) has released version 3 of their Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK) to create a common vocabulary and common set of guidelines for the practice of Business Process Management (BPM).

The CBOK forms the basis for a certification for BPM practitioners which is gaining acceptance within the community.  Those individuals that have attained the Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP) certification will have demonstrated that they have at least four years of real world BPM experience as well as a deep understanding of the BPM concepts outlined in the CBOK.

An accepted certification program for BPM will provide an avenue for experienced practitioners to demonstrate their credentials with potential clients.  For an often misunderstood business area, floating between business professionals and IT, this rigorous certifrication could offer the clout needed to bridge the divide.
